Blawggers continue to activate against Patriot Act
Today is the first day that senators and congressional reps are expected to meet to hash out the differences between their two versions of the Patriot Act. This bill has many blawggers in a posting lather, including Bob Ambrogi. "As a lawyer, I find it outrageous that federal law enforcement would assume unbridled power to investigate ordinary citizens free from the check of judges and lawyers," he writes. "I am glad to see that some are willing to challenge this practice and hope many others join them."
More in "The FBI's Secret Scrutiny." See also Ambrogi's update on the latest action by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, "EFF issues alert on national security letters."
