In My Other Life, I'm President
The Second Life Bar Association, described as "an informal professional organization that promotes the development of law in Second Life," recently concluded its first-ever election of officers. Voted president-elect was David Naylor, a partner in the London office of Field Fisher Waterhouse, who participates in the virtual world of Second Life as the avatar Solomon Cortes. He will assume the office of president in January, succeeding SLBA founder and current president Benjamin Duranske.
Also elected as an SLBA officer, as reported by Duranske at his blog Virtually Blind, was California lawyer Geri Kahn, who will be vice president of finance starting immediately. Other new officers are identified only by their Second Life names and include a law student at Berkeley, an attorney/law librarian, a recent law school grad and an attorney in private practice in New York. Duranske says that the SLBA has more than 160 members and meets regularly in Second Life.
