U.K. Lawyers Don't Want Their Children To Follow in Their Footsteps
Moms and dads, don't let your children grow up to be lawyers. That's the refrain lawyers in the United Kingdom are singing, according to a survey commissioned by recruitment agency Hudson, and reported in the Telegraph. The study polled 1,000 professionals in a variety of fields, and of that group, male lawyers ranked as least content, with 32.3 percent opposed to their children entering the legal profession. By contrast, the survey revealed female IT workers as the most satisfied professional group, with just 20 percent resistant to their children following their career path. All of the professionals surveyed -- not just lawyers -- apparently suffered from "the grass is greener" syndrome, believing that their children would find better financial rewards and work/life balance in other professions.
Of course, all of this raises the money question for you, readers: Do you want your children to become lawyers? Why or why not?
