A Law Firm That Waxes But Doesn't Wane

Here's a law firm business model that's made to stick --  combine running a law practice with a waxing salon, as Ocala, Florida family law attorney Ami DiLorenzo has done.  Actually, when DiLorenzo opened her waxing studio, she was just looking to cater to a niche market she knew well. After moving to Ocala from Miami, DiLorenzo discovered that none of the local salons offered the vegetable-based, gentle waxing techniques that she preferred.  So she opened the shop, realizing that many other professional women might want the same service.

DiLorenzo's instinct was right.  Opened in May, the salon now has 80 customers, while DiLorenzo's law practice continues to thrive.  And as painful as waxing can be, perhaps it's not as bad as a visit to the lawyer.  Salon employees report that customers rarely flinch when they're waxed.  Too bad the same can't be said for clients when they get their lawyers' bill.
