Foreclosure Standoff Update: Homeowner Carried Out of Home by His Hands and Feet
The foreclosure standoff that I wrote about on Wednesday last week came to a swift end on Friday. To recap, Keith Sadler had sealed himself inside his foreclosed-upon house and refused to leave voluntarily. He shut himself in the home with several buddies and "only a cell phone and a golf ball-sized hole in the front window to enable communication."
On Tuesday, Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said did not intend to arrest Sadler "unless he gives them trouble" but, hey, a sheriff's eventually gotta do what a sheriff's gotta do. And so it was that at about 6:30 a.m. on Friday, Sadler's moment of rebel fame ended when authorities
broke down the front door of his home and carried him out "by his hands and
feet." The Toledo Blade reports that Sadler and six others in the home were arrested while about 30 protesters stood in the pouring rain chanting "Keith's house."
