Porn Stars Stake Out Moral High Ground Against Piracy
The people in the porn industry say they "work hard to entertain you and arouse you." Is it too much to ask for you to buy their products rather than watch pirated versions?
Via the Copyrights and Campaigns blog I learned of a new "public service announcement" from Ron Jeremy and other porn stars that seeks to deliver this message. Here is what they want -- wait, make that need -- you to know before you watch that pirated porn and put them out of business:
- Pirated porn is "stealing," which is not "okay."
- "Porn stars have families that they support with their income."
- Porn stars pay taxes.
- Porn pirates do not care about the consumer, as opposed to those in the "adult entertainment family" who "love and appreciate our fans."
You feel bad about yourself now, don't you? Well "turn that frown upside down" porn star Charlie Laine suggests in yet another PSA video by paying for some porn. And that should make everything better.
