"This is Kaiser. Your lab tests are back and getting great hits on a blog ..."

Mike Fox tells the strange story of how confidential data about 140 Kaiser patients ended up on the Web log of a former employee who calls herself "Diva of Disgruntled."

The blogger -- an ex-Web producer for the HMO -- apparently is positioning herself as a whistleblower, someone who filed a complaint with the federal Office of Civil Rights about a security breach she found on the Kaiser Web site.

Only thing is, to prove it, the disgruntled Diva published the information on her Weblog for all to see -- data such as medical record numbers, patient names and in some cases information about routine lab tests (but not the results).

Thanks Diva, on behalf of all bloggers. No really -- you just think you're disgruntled. Wait'll you run into one of those 140 patients.
