As we told you here on Wednesday, the race to be named Best Law Blog was neck and neck between Volokh Conspiracy and Above the Law. As of Wednesday, Volokh held the lead, but as polling closed yesterday, Above the Law pulled ahead to win with 38.7 percent of the votes. The competition for Best Law Blog was part of the 2007 Weblog Awards, which name the best blogs in a variety of categories. Here is how the vote broke down for law blogs:
- Above the Law, 5,070 votes
- Volokh Conspiracy, 4,685 votes
- Balkinization, 998 votes
- SCOTUSblog, 611 votes
- How Appealing, 532 votes
- Wall Street Journal Law Blog, 398 votes
- Sui Generis, 310 votes
- Ms JD, 305 votes
- Simple Justice, 125 votes
- Likelihood of Confusion, 74 votes
Lawyers stood out in other categories as well. Law professor Glenn Reynolds won as Best Individual Blogger for his blog Instapundit. The blog Daily Kos, founded by lawyer Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, came in third for Best Online Community. And the three lawyers who write Power Line were voted fourth in the category Best Conservative Blog. Congratulations to all.
