Blawg Review #201
This week brings a larger than life Blawg Review #201, hosted by Dallas-based Susman Godfrey litigator Barry Barnett. On his blog, Blawgletter, Barnett commemorates the 173rd anniversary of Texas' independence from Mexico by doing what Texans do best: talking about Texas.
March 2 marks the 173rd anniversary of Texas Independence from Mexico. Four days before the Alamo fell, and all its defenders perished, 59 Texian delegates adopted the Texas Declaration of Independence at Washington-on-the-Brazos. The document included this charge against the Mexican government:
"It has failed and refused to
secure, on a firm basis, the right of trial by jury, that palladium of
civil liberty, and only safe guarantee for the life, liberty, and
property of the citizen."
In honor of them -- and that palladium of civil liberty -- Blawg
Review #201 takes Texas and Texans, warts and all, as its theme.
Barnett focuses on many of the great blogs based in the Lone Star State, but he also includes posts from around the rest of the country. Come on down, y'all.
