LBW Reader Question: Who Else Has Negotiated Key Clauses in Wedding Vows?

Negotiate I noted in Wednesday's Three Burning Legal Questions post that a certain Appalachian Trail-hiking governor supposedly refused to promise to be "faithful" in his wedding vows years ago, and insisted that the clause be removed from the ceremony. This shocked the tender sensibilities of some of us here at LBW, who did not realize that such negotiations were even on the menu of options for soon-to-be brides and grooms.

In order to flesh this important issue out a bit, I'd love to hear from LBW readers (maybe there are even some divorce lawyers among you?) who can provide other examples of people who played hardball with their wedding vows in this fashion. Surely the governor of South Carolina is not the only one who has ever had the audacity to try this?
